Language schools abroad tend to focus on speech-oriented teaching, vocabulary building and the improvement of fluency. Ultimately, their goals are to boost students’ confidence, add emotional commitment to the rational reasons for language learning and promote the culture of the target country.
Students usually stay with local families, but sometimes alternative forms of accommodation are also available. Two meals a day are guaranteed with full board being an option.
Shetland’s foreign partner schools provide courses throughout the year. Students can join weekly courses on Monday. The number of lessons per week range between 10 and 40. In addition to general language tuition, business language courses are also available and the schools offer teacher training as well (language improvement and methodology). Based on our experiences, we recommend stays of at least two weeks.
Individual learners can study at any of our partner schools all year round. Shetland UK Language School can organise your whole trip (including insurance, flight tickets, transfers, programmes, etc.).
